Iris photographs, sent straight to the studio
IrisReveal is a mobile app from Light of Your Iris. It helps you photograph an iris close up on your phone and send those photographs to the studio, where they are assessed for whether they can be made into artwork.
How it works
- Capture. The app guides you through photographing an iris close up, using the phone’s macro or ultra-wide lens where it has one. Taking several gives the best chance of one sharp, usable image.
- Name each person. A submission can cover a whole family. Each person’s photographs are labelled with the first name you give.
- Send. You enter your name, email address and mobile number, confirm you have permission for everyone included, and submit the set.
- Assess. Light of Your Iris reviews every set by hand and emails you to say whether the photographs are suitable for artwork.
Get the app
IrisReveal is available for iPhone and Android. It is free to use, and sending photographs does not commit you to buying anything.
The administration panel
Submissions are browsed, searched and exported from a private panel. It is for Light of Your Iris only and needs a sign in.
Google Drive access
Submissions are filed into a Google Drive account belonging to Light of Your Iris. If you are sending photographs you are never asked to sign in to Google, and IrisReveal never touches your Google account.
To connect their own account, Light of Your Iris grants IrisReveal one Google
permission, drive.file, which is the narrowest Drive permission
available: the app can see and manage only the files it creates itself.
It cannot read, list, or open anything already in that Drive.
The connection is made once and can be withdrawn at any time from Google Account › Security › Third-party access. Folders already created stay in that Drive and belong to its owner.
IrisReveal’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Data and privacy
What is collected, where it is stored, and how to have it removed is set out in the privacy policy. The terms of use cover use of the app. Questions about either go to ali@lightofyouriris.com.
